My name's Maria Rocha (Lisbon, 1988).
In my both artistic and academic training I traveled to Brussels (BA in Arts at the École Européenne II), Milan (Art and Multimedia studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera) and London (MA in Graphic Moving Image at the London College of Communication) where I then stayed working for 8 years.
In 2018 I returned to Lisbon, my hometown, to follow my passion for the arts and live closer to my family. During this path, I studied graphic design, multimedia, music, animation and illustration, which is the area that interests me the most.
I work mainly on book illustration, fabric patterns, illustrative series and custom projects. But I also work in other areas of illustration like music video clips, GIFs and VJ graphics.
Watercolor and drawing will always be present in my work, from the creation of the most dreamy universes to the illustrations of current themes.
Debating myself with the eternal question of how to contribute to a better world, I get involved in humanitarian projects using illustration as a way of awareness.
